Some friends of ours from church were married on Saturday by our pastor at her sister’s house (also a friend from church). A beautiful wedding & reception.
The wedding photographer is also a close friend. Part of our church actually.
When she spotted me trying to take her picture she said, “You can’t take my picture!” Turns out, she’s right! Each time I tried, something obstructed my shot. So here’s the mystery photographer.
The wedding cake maker is none other than Patti, my wife! Yes Patti does wedding cakes. And other types of cakes too. All custom made to the specific occasion and even the person(s). She has not gone over the edge to open a business yet but she does pull out her frosting tips for friends and family. This cake is frosted with a basketweave design. The bride is a huge Longaberger fan.
As you can see, I was dodged again! I shutter to think what might happen if I ever succeed in getting a clear shot. That’s one sweet camera though. I suppose the identity of this photographer remains mysterious. Please, don’t click here.

haha! how sneaky of you, “Please, don’t click here.”
Patti!!! WOW!!! Amazing cake! What flavor was it?
That is one talented lady you have there. And did I catch of glimpse of your family’s wedding in the mystery photographer’s photo album? I could have sworn one of those Dad’s with a blushing bride looked a LOT like you.
Beautiful.
Hey Tam, after four kids I know how to generate hits. And the cake was half-n-half – chocolate and vanilla. Because the bride prefers chocolate and the groom prefers vanilla. Like I said, the cake is customized to the person(s).
Yes Michelle, Patti is pretty talented. And yes, Shelane did photograph our daughter’s wedding last year.
Hi Tam, the bride wanted white and chocolate cake, so I made the layers half white and half chocolate, so that when they sliced the cake, she could have white and he could have chocolate.
Thank you Michelle, but I am surprise that Ric didn’t tell you “he carried the cake in to the reception”, because that is what he said to everyone that told me what a wonderful cake it was!
I want that cake! Yummy! Half Choco and Van? You can’t go wrong!
Kim, I ate 2 slices of cake at the reception. I guess that means I ate your slice … Thank you.
Patti, oops, I mixed up the preferences. And good point, I DID carry the cake into the reception.
So yeah, whenever people were ooooo-ing and ahhh-ing over the cake to Patti, I would interrupt with, “Yeah but I carried it in.” Cuz without me, no ooo-s, no ahhhs.
Ric I don’t know what I would do with out ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We all know, Ric, you are her knight in shining armour. Y’all’s daughter’s wedding was beautiful, very nice pics.
That’s me, Sure Rhymesalot. It was a beautiful wedding, thanks. Shelane had a part in capturing the beauty.
Patti! the cake is awesome! do you do this out of your home? we hired a girl who did this privately, and it was beautiful..but yours is nicer..
Ric- hahaha you can’t take pics of the photographer..its like an unwritten law or something…
Hey Darla! Welcome back east. (Although, from my den I cannot tell the difference between east coast Darla and west coast Darla.)
The cake looks so yummy! And the design’s very classy.
And the flavors – chocolate and vanilla, you say? My faves!
Now, I’m craving for cakes. Your fault.
Hehehehe
Hey Brainteaser, next time Patti bakes a cake you’re invited! She does make really tasty cakes but I don’t know of anyone who has crossed an ocean and a continent for a slice of cake yet… And you can pretty much blame me just about all the time.
Wow, beautiful…glad ur back ric…uh, poem pwease?
Hi Deb! Ahh yes poetry… I appear to be experiencing rhyming rut or poetic paralysis. I have about half dozen drafts that are awaiting inspiration.
Love the new avatar btw.
I love cake – especially with a scoop of ice cream!
Ok Papa, you can come to the nxt cake party too. A’la mode eh? Well, just keep the lactose away from me please.
