I Watered my Computer

In the interest of discontinuity, this is how I spent my Saturday last weekend.

Have you ever pour water in you computer?

Have you ever poured water into you computer? Its feels weird at first.

  1. Does the pump/fan work through power generated from a heat exchanger that extracts the heat from the water heated by cooling the chip in order to generate an electric current?

or does it look pretty at the expense of using yet more power from the grid?

praying for a perfect system that never ‘leaks’ ;-)

    • The water pump plugs into a 12V molex connection and draws about as much as a hard-drive. The cooling fan speed is adjustable from 1200 to 2400 RPMs to conserve power and reduce noise. However, I run it at top speed cuz I like a cool machine ;)

  2. Boy’s with their toys!

  3. You should buy a Mac. :)

  4. u 2 smrt! love it!

  5. Greek! Greek, I say! It’s all Greek to me! Nothing but Greek!

Still, it looks really cool! ;)

  6. That is a really cool night picture.

    Very, very creative.

The most technical thing I can do is change a light blub, so I don’t think I will try it. :)

  7. Nor, it IS cool, really cool. haha.

Yeah Ed, I’d advise steering clear of installing a liquid cooling system. This is like my equivalent to an old vintage car in the garage. I play with computers when I want to relax.

  8. Do you think you may need to add a disclaimer for folks not to try ‘watering’ their pc’s ( or macs) with a watering can – you KNOW what some people are like – right? :-)

    • You’re absolutely right, bLove!

      DISCLAIMER:
DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME! CHANCES ARE GOOD THAT YOUR ATTEMPT WILL RESULT IN PEOPLE ARGUING OVER RIGHTS TO YOUR STUFF. IF YOU’VE ALREADY ATTEMPTED WATERING YOUR COMPUTER, YOU’RE PROBABLY NOT READING THIS RIGHT NOW. THANK YOU FOR VISITING MY BLOG.

      P.S. DON’T WATCH THIS VIDEO:

  9. i couldn’t help myself – i Watched!

i can’t figure out if that was an attempt at a scientific experiment or an attempt at making the ultimate fast BBQ??

i’m off to water my PC ;-)

  10. wha? im confused. did you really put water in your computer? and..thats a computer?

    hi ric!

    ;)

    • Tam – that’s what the VAST majority of REAL computers look like – minus the glow-in-the-dark water pipes, OBVIOUSLY ;-)

Oh and after you have removed part of the outer casing.

Ric is only watering his so it will grow into something more powerful and bigger inside (and no i do NOT mean into an Apple!)

Plus he likes shiny new toys and ‘weird’ science. Seems there is a theory that a cool chip is a happy chip.? 8)

      Ain’t that so Ric? ;-)

  11. Yes Tam, I really poured water into my computer. Its called a water cooling kit. I do things like this to relax.

And Love is right, a cool chip is a happy chip.
