  1. i sincerely hope it gives Eric (and you) more (good) than it takes away.

i’m not at all sure how God sees it and don’t presume to know His view?

i would wish that you are all in full agreement, while knowing that such rarely exists – even within the best of families ;-)

  2. Ah, I recognize that room. MEPS at Fort Meade. Congratulations! You must be proud or your boy. Heck, I don’t even know him but I’m proud of him.

    How long will basic be?

    • Yep, that is MEPS at Ft Meade. Thanks. And yes, I am quite proud of him and told him so yesterday. He will be in basic for 8 weeks, which means he will miss the holidays… at home anyways.

  3. This pulls at my heart strings. My baby brother joined the air force last year and is now stationed in Korea. I know I’m only his older sister, but I’m 11 years older than him, and can’t help seeing him running around the house in diapers, playing pretend and loving movies (he still does love movies). They grow up too fast. But I am so dang proud of him.

  4. That is a fine looking young man. One that makes his father, and his country proud.

My father, and his three brothers all served in the Navy in WII, in the South pacific. They had many tales to tell, but left out the ones about their shore leaves. :)

  5. I remember this with Mike Ric. It’s tough. I know how to pray for you on this one… hope you are doing well..

  6. all my uncles served in the armed forces. im so proud of them.

hope your daddys heart is doing ok…

  7. Thank you Debs and Tam.

  8. I can relate (bro in the Navy submariners and all) it’s really hard but it really will be worth it. Hang in there! :)
