I Long to Swing Once More

Waiting

I long to swing once more
a child stares out the door
the chains creek in the wind
I play as one no more

the chains creek in the wind
a cold will settles in
to lock away the pain
with screams of distant sin

to lock away the pain
I search someone to blame
it takes what one should give
to live in private shame

it takes what one should give
without a heart I live
I long to swing once more
alone can I forgive

  2. Dad – this speaks to me more than you know…

  3. “can I forgive” mmmmm only by the power of Jesus, and only after I ask for HIM to enable me to forgive and to love…so I guess no I can’t on my own.

  4. Glad you like it Brandy.

Sam, I had that feeling too…

    Darla, so true.

I don’t want this. I have chosen to feel the pain. It’s overwhelming many days, but I don’t want to pass it on. I have a great fear of passing it on.

Sometimes, it’s really hard to your poetry, Ric. I do appreciate it though. It puts words to what I’ve been thinking. That’s the mark of a good poet. 😉

Glad to hear that Michelle. It is hard to write too. Sometimes lines come to me and I have to type them with my eyes closed.
