Winter

cold gather ’round me
stiff limbs feign repose
here, winds all full see
awaiting, God knows
the flake softly falls
too, hiding the dark
the weight of it all
a contrasting stark
so sturdy be strong
with roots reaching deep
and color, long gone
might spring be in reach

  1. The words and picture are a perfect fit to describe the stark nature of winter, and the promise of spring buried under it.

  2. the gray of winter always bothered me, but the brightness of spring may not seem so bright with out the grayness of spring. I am ready for some brightness!
